Volunteers from the parish. |

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS - 3RD DEGREE
|

|
Purpose: |
An organization of Catholic gentlemen founded on faith,
family and fraternity. Through service and charitable
donations the Knight's support deserving agencies. |

Activities: |
Fundraising activities include Bingo and Bar-B-Q sales which
help support charities like Seton Home for pregnant women
and child advocacy group. The Knights visit hospitals and
nursing homes, and gives scholarships to high school
graduates who plan to attend college. |

|
Participants: |
Any catholic man, over 18 years of age, in good standing
with the church and community. |
|
|
|

Purpose: |
To foster the spirit of patriotism by promoting responsible citizenship and a love of and loyalty to the Knights’ respective countries. |

Contribute time, talent and treasure to Church and patriotic causes. The color corps, composed of members, displays support of our Catholic faith and the Church in civic and religious events. Participate in funerals and serve as the Bishops and other Church hierarchy honor guard. |

Any Third degree member in good standing, one year after becoming First Degree member is eligible for membership. |

Purpose: |
Ladies social organization that also makes donations of time
and money to the parish, the school and nursing homes. |

The group visits the sick, and nursing homes where they host
bingo. The group hosts out of town trips and luncheons, and holds
a raffle to raise money for the parish. |

EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS OF THE EUCHARIST

Purpose: |
To administer the Blessed Sacraments, the Body and Blood of
Christ, at Mass. |

Activities: |
Assists the Priest in distributing the Body and Blood of
Christ at all Masses. Also visit and take Communion to
Nursing Homes, shut-ins and Hospital. |
|
|
|
Participants: |
All Catholics in good standing who have attended the
instructional sessions. |
|
|
|
Meeting Times: |
When necessary to make changes. |
|
|
|

LECTORS/COMMENTATORS
|
|
|
|
Purpose: |
To proclaim the word of God through the readings of the
Gospels. |

Activities: |
Reverently read the Epistle at each Mass. Make all
pre-service announcements and assists in the Mass by reading
other parts of the service. They are expected to remain
after mass to help sort the collections. |

Participants: |
Any Catholic in good standing with the church |

When necessary to instruct or make changes. |

ALTAR SERVERS
|
|
|
|
Purpose: |
To train young boys and girls who are interested in serving
the Lord by participating in the Mass and other services. |

All boys and girls nine years of age and older. |
|
|

Anyone interested in participating in the service. |

Purpose: |
To prepare the church for the Eucharistic ceremony and other

candles and all other items are in place. |

|
|
Participants: |
All men and women over 18 years of age in good standing in
the church. |

first and second offerings. Pass out bulletins at the end of
Mass. |

|
|

Purpose: |
Adoration, Community, Theology, Service is a lay-based
weekend retreat for men, women and teens. |

social activities twice a year for small church community
development. |
|
|
|
Participants: |
Open to all people of the parish. |
|
|
|

|

Purpose: |
To have continuous veneration of the Body of Christ 24 hours
a day, seven days a week. |

The Body of Christ is on exhibition in the Adoration Chapel.
Parishioners spend an hour venerating the Body of Christ.
Reading material is available to assist the meditation. |

|
Participants: |
Any parish member willing to spend an hour with the Body of
Christ. |

Purpose: |
To provide Catholic oriented education to 3K through 8th
grade. |

Participants: |
Parish family members and the general public who use the
school as an alternative to public education. |
|
|

of the need for Anointing of the Sick. |

|

Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist and any parish

BEREAVEMENT

Purpose: |
To provide family and friends of the deceased member an
opportunity to visit following the funeral services. |

If the reception is held in the home, only food is provided. |
|
|
|
Participants: |
A list of volunteers. |

BLOOD DRIVE
|
|

|
Purpose: |
To furnish human blood, for the area, through the South
Texas Blood and Tissue Center. |

|
|
|
Participants: |
Anyone over 17 years of age, weighing at least 110 lbs., who
is physically able to donate. |

Establish plans for the annual Parish Festival. |

and foodservice. |
